Sleeping Beauty

One minute Hannah was talking to me this afternoon and then the next she was asleep. For some reason how her mouth is open in the picture is funny to me, so that is why the close up of her!! Haydn has been getting out of her bed every now and then. She will crawl under her bed and sleep like this until I move her. I don't know why she does it, nor does it look comfortable! She still does not get out of bed or should I say her bedroom on her own! She will call for me when she wakes in the mornings and after she wakes from her afternoon nap to come get her (she is always in her bed at this point)!!

4th of July

Happy 4th of July!! Haydn wasn't into getting her picture taken today!! I think this is one of the coolest 4th of July's I can remember in a LONG time. Two years ago, we flew out on the 5th for Anna Leigh and Patrick's wedding. Our air conditioner broke on the 3rd or 4th, but all I remember is our house was over 90 degrees on the night of the 4th! UGH!! I think the temp right now is maybe a high of 70!! We might be wearing jeans and long sleeves to the fireworks tonight.

Fishing

Wes took the girls fishing yesterday morning at his grandparents farm pond south of Winterset. Hannah caught 5 fish all by herself. She even called me to tell me her good news. Haydn didn't have as much fun.

Last Day

Last day before Hannah comes home. Today after work Haydn and I met Grandma Marcia and Great Grandma Bev for lunch. After Haydn's nap we went up to the Waukee Farmer's Market. We got home and Wes was home from work. We went out for supper and then went to Centennial Park. Beautiful night out. Tomorrow I will meet Mom and Hannah will come back home. I know Hannah has had a blast in Mt Ayr and I hope Haydn has had as much fun here.

Hannah is spending a few days in Mt Ayr. Mom and dad do this each summer. Each grandchild gets to stay in MA without other siblings. Hannah is first, she is busy 3 of the 4 weeks of July. It is amazing how talkative Haydn has been. It is like you can tell her mind is spinning with so much to say. I have painted to finger/toenails. Played a lot outside today, beautiful weather here. She is pretty easy to entertain.

Uncle Mark and Ken hosted a garage party last night. Those in attendance were mom & dad, Davidson's, Pratt's, Roe's, McDonnell's, Joni, Aunt Ann, Ann Smith, Fiihr's & Joan & Kendall. A beautiful night for a garage party. Lots of good food and friends...what else do you need??

Vada's Visit

Vada and Anna Leigh are spending the night with us tonight. We moved our old couch out into the street for our "neighborhood watch" tonight. Was a beautiful night for a cold beer! Had our family picture taken on the couch with the bright orange safety fence along with the road closed sign. Can you say redneck..??!! Might be our x-mas card?! We all are having so much fun with AL and Vada here. Luckily we know they are coming back in July!!

Summer in Iowa

Today feels like a hot, muggy, sticky Iowa summer day. After Haydn woke up from her nap we went out for some water fun. Haydn wouldn't get too close to the spraying water. Hannah had fun though.

Tuesday night Kayren and I went to MA. Wednesday morning mom, Kayren and I left for KC to pick AL and Vada up from the airport. It was great to see Anna Leigh and Vada! We haven't seen Vada since x-mas so she has changed A LOT!! We shopped a little in KC, spent the night and headed back to Mt Ayr on Thursday. The 5 other grandkids were in Mt Ayr by the time we got back. Vada was cared for/picked on the rest of the weekend. The adults golfed on Friday night. Poor Mike had us 3 Watson girls on his team. Wes had to work late, he made it for the last 3 holes. We came in dead last but it was a lot of fun. Saturday we had Gina Gunsolley's wedding in Maloy and reception in Mt Ayr. Was a beautiful wedding. Didn't get one shot of the bride or groom! Today we celebrated Vada's 1st birthday. She had 3 little girls to help open her gifts. Porter was napping or he would of been in the thick of it also. The girls decorated cupcakes for the party. It is hard to believe she will be 1 on the 30th!! It was a fun week/end.
