Yeah! He did it!

sea of snowmobiles

eating gourmet lunch of peanut butter!

We headed up to Okoboji on Friday after Wes got off work for the Winter Games. Mom, dad, Davidson's and friends of Mike and Kayren's came down from Minn also. Saturday we headed down to all the activities. They had a few games for kids to partake in, like ice bowling, putt-putt golf. Mom, Kayren, Mike and I did the 5K walk/run. After that we watched the polar plunge. I think that was one of the highlights of the trip for me. I can't imagine jumping into the FREEZING water! We saw tons of snowmobiles out on the lake. It was a very fun weekend.

100th day of Kindergarten

counting them out
putting them into her piles of 10

Haydn had to pose with her

final product!

Haydn then needed a pic with Lily.

Hannah brought home a math project Tuesday night. She has to bring 100 items to school to celebrate being in school for 100 days! We chose to use noodles. It was fun to see her group the noodles in groups of 10 and then count the groups by 10.

Lunch with Hannah

Today I went and had lunch with Hannah (I didn't eat) but walked through the line with her sat with her at the table. All 5 sections of Kindergarten are there at once. Each class sits together though. Today was pancakes, sausage patties and hashbrown triangle and bananas. Really they have about 20 min to eat. What I saw was mostly talking in the lunchroom. I don't know if it has to do with the 2 hr late start or if they are normally that loud. Hannah started school today at 10:40 and they eat lunch at 11:30, so they weren't in school long before it was lunch time! I then went back to her room for awhile while she had indoor recess. Because of the ice they could not go outside to play. I sat and talked to the teacher associate for awhile. There is one other class in with Hannah's class to watch a PBS show. Once again there was some talking and the recess teacher was telling them all to be quiet. They just didn't have their listening ears on today. Inside recess is hard for them says the TA. They need that time outside to run and burn some energy. It was a fun experience.

Warrior Lanes

our scores, me: 82, Wes: 119, Hannah: 99 and Haydn: 83

Hannah wanted a pic of their shoes

We went bowling this afternoon. As per request of Haydn. She has been asking for months to go, seriously weekly! Both girls had a great time. There were bumpers for the girls (I needed them by the looks of my score).

Introducing...

full grown rabbit and hippo. The instructions said it would take 3-4 days for them to grow but in winter months with low humidity we had to create a "greenhouse environment". So it took more like 6 days to show a change.

Sledding

CRASH!

Haydn trying to get up the hill

her sign for "I am done sledding"

Whoa!

I took the girls sledding this afternoon, we were out there for alittle over 2 hrs. It was perfect weather for sledding. We have a great sledding hill behind out house (where the small park is) well 2 blocks away. Haydn was hesitant at first but after a couple times down with me she was good to go on her own. It has been yrs since I have gone sledding, we all enjoyed it!

Use #12 for all this snow we have....

yes, Hannah is in a tank top and no socks. My girls must be warm blooded. Neither one of them like to wear sock whether it is summer or winter!

snow ice cream. The girls made this while in Mt Ayr last week. We also made Root Beer floats (because we have A LOT of snow)! The girls drank out of fancy glasses. They are the champagne glasses Wes and I used for our wedding. Haven't been drank out of since '01! If anyone would like some snow for snow ice cream, PLEASE come get some of ours, we have some extra!!

A few more gifts...

Grandpa Tom stopped this afternoon and dropped off some Christmas gifts for the girls. Once Hannah got home from school they tore into them right away. Haydn got a Little Mermaid barbie, money and a rabbit Chia Pet. Hannah got a barbie for the water, money and a hippo Chia pet. Hannah is loving her Chia pet. We are soaking them now and will coat them with the seeds. I will have to post pics later once they start to grow. Thanks Grandpa Tom, Amy, Sam and Matt.

Curious George

Eliott and Hannah looking intense

Marcia, Wes, Adam, Eliott, the girls and I went and saw Curious George tonight. It was a good show. The girls, mom and I actually saw George and the man with the yellow hat at ImaginEve. Haydn asked the man with the yellow hat "does George have a mommy and a daddy"? The man with the yellow hat told her "I am George's mommy and daddy"!
