anniversary surprise

I have to brag about the girls for one minute.  They both woke up early this morning to make these signs and they made Wes and I breakfast for our anniversary.  I actually heard footsteps downstairs early but I figured it was Hannah awake early, didn't think Haydn was awake too.  I was so surprised to see the signs and the table for two.  Hannah made sure it was just Wes and I eating breakfast together!!  Wes and I are leaving this evening for Chicago for Cubs game and IA football game on Saturday.  

 Hannah made me toast with Nutella w/ sprinkies, two choc chips cookie, strawberries and yogurt covered raisins along with milk to drink.  Wes got peanut butter toast and the rest the same!

The girls started school today.  Both got up easy and were excited to start the new year in a new school.  When I picked them up this afternoon they both were happy with their new teachers and had made new friends and all in all had a great 1st day!!

 The girls start school tomorrow.  The summer has flown by like they always do. They are excited to start a new school tomorrow. I thought Haydn would have some fears but when putting her to bed tonight she didn't show any so we will see how tomorrow morning goes.

 Today we headed to Jordan Creek to feed the ducks.  We had some stale bread sitting around and what not a better way to get rid of it!

Iowa State Fair

The girls, mom and I went to the fair yesterday. It has been 4-5 years since all 4 of us had been to the fair.  The weather was gorgeous and the crowds were not bad.  We pack a lot into the day. The girls and I did the Giant slide together and then they did it by themselves later on. 

 We checked out the horse, swine and cattle barns. Hannah loves animals.

 Little Hands on the Farm. The girls went from station to station by planting, growing their food and taking care of animals like milking the cows. At the end they sold their good and was able to pick out a treat at the "grocery store".  The girls got bomb pops for all their hard work!

As I look back on these 5 years of pictures of Hannah on her Birthday it is hard to believe she is 9 today! We only have 9 years left of her being in the house before she graduates from high school. If the next 9 yrs go as fast as the 1st 9 it will feel like she will be a senior tomorrow (can't think about that)!

Happy 9th Birthday, Hannah

Today Hannah turns 9!!  Hard to believe my 1st born is 9.  She has had a great Birthday week celebrating. Went shopping with Grandma on Wednesday and got new clothes and the chair in the last picture with her balloons. Yesterday we went to Fogle Lake. Today we went to sky zone, out to eat supper and Buffalo Wild Wings and ended the night with Orange Leaf!

 I had my friend Amy buy balloons and put in Hannah's room while we were in Diagonal. Hannah was surprised when we got home today to find them!

Camping at Fogle Lake

We headed to Diagonal yesterday for our annual camping trip. It just so happens it always falls around Hannah's Birthday as well. We stayed busy having a water balloon fight, riding horses, cousins playing and celebrating Hannah's 9th Birthday!!

Indianola Balloons

Marcia, the girls and I headed down to Indianola to see the hot air balloons. It was a lot of fun. There were some really cool balloons and some even flew right over us.
