Haydn's 1st ER Visit
Last night around 7:30-8:00 we headed to the ER. Haydn had been breathing heavy all afternoon. Around 4:00PM I took her up to a neighbor that is a nurse for her to look at her, give me an opinion of what to do. She was not home. She wasn't getting any better. She did have a temp of 100 at 6:00. I went on a walk after supper and noticed she was home so I took her back up there. Well she noticed right away that she was working hard at breathing. So I came home and got Wes and headed down to Blank's ER. There were a lot of people in the waiting room (of course) but when I told them her symptoms they got us in right away. They listened to her breathe and could tell on one side she was having troubles breathing. Glad we were helped so quickly but on the other hand since it was a scary situation that was scary for me. They hooked her up to a machine that keeps track of her heartbeats (can you tell I am not a medical person) anyway when Haydn would try and talk it would go off the charts. Just to give you an example she was so short of breath that she would have to stop in the middle of a sentence to catch her breath! Once we got into our room a nurse came in and gave her a nebulizer treatment. That worked wonders on her. They also did a chest x-ray on her to see if she possibly had Pneumonia (which she doesn't)!! She did AWESOME through all the gadgets hooked up to her! She had the x-ray staff laughing I guess of what she was telling them, we couldn't be in the room with her, just waited outside the room! The hospital staff was WONDERFUL. They have a program there that helps entertain the kids while they are waiting on test results or in between Doctors or nurses coming in to see them. She colored handfuls of pictures, watched a Dora movie, got two stickers. So she came home with an inhaler that we have to give to her every 4 hrs starting last night at 1:00! So she slept with me last night just so I could monitor her. Needless to say we all will be taking naps today! We got home alittle before 10:00 PM last night. She is on the road to recovery already! Hopefully it will be a LONG time until we go to the ER again!

Waukee Fest Parade
The girls and I were in the Waukee Fest Parade this morning. We walked with the Aquatic Center float (if the vote is passed in 2010). This is the first time we have been in a parade here in Waukee. It was a lot of fun! We had TONS of candy to throw out and small beach balls. The kids did a very good job of rationing the candy for we had a lot left over at the end. I got this one picture before we took off.

Play-Doh
Hannah has been home sick yesterday and today from school. I actually took her to the Doctor yesterday, Wednesday night she was coughing like a croup cough. Well turns out her lungs sounded fine! I hate when I jump the gun on taking the girls to the doctor. Last night she actually got sick in the middle of the night. She has been fine all morning, has eaten breakfast and lunch! She wanted to do play-doh this morning so I got that out and it entertained them for a long time.

Hannah's 1st Day of Kindergarten
her walking into the building.
Hannah was excited this morning, she actually got up alittle before 7:00 this morning (earliest she has gotten up all summer). Last night she said her tummy hurt, she actually fell asleep at 8:00, which she hasn't been asleep that early in a VERY LONG time!! So I was nervous she was going to miss her 1st day of school. She was fine this morning. She didn't start school until 9:45 today and gets out at 1:45 today and tomorrow. Friday she goes all day. She was ready to go to school way before it was time. Wes came home to ride along with us for her 1st day. We got to school she found her teacher and stood in line. I tried to get a couple shot of her but she never wanted to smile. Then they all walked into school with their teacher. The parents weren't aloud to go into school with them. Which I totally understand. So I didn't cry, I did get teary eyed a couple times but I think it helped that we said our good-byes outside the building. I wanted to get a picture of Hannah with her teacher but Mrs Rutz was so busy greeting students and making sure everyone was where they were to be. Might try and get one when I pick Hannah up this afternoon. Anxious to hear about her 1st day!

Another gift
Camping at Fogle Lake
the plaque on the rock is in memory of G-ma Bert.
Mom, dad, Davidson's, Mark, Ken and us camped last night at Fogle Lake in Diagonal. It was a lot of fun. We celebrated Hannah and Uncle Mark's b-day, went horseback riding, had a wiener roast, water balloon fight, made smores and went fishing all in less than 24 hours. We had off/on rain showers yesterday, but never put a damper on our day. It rained REALLY hard last night, good thing we were staying in cabins and not tents. The cabins are really nice and pretty spacious.

Birthday continued...
Once we got home from Stella's she opened her gifts from us and had her Chocolate chip/Oatmeal cookie. She is not a big fan of frosting so she requested a cookie like she had last year. She got a couple outfits to wear to school this fall, softball glove (she has been asking for one of these all summer), hats, iCarly notebook/pens, top (not sure how to describe it, but she has been asking for this top for 2 yrs, not joking, a woman sells them at the Waukee Farmers Market, the shirt is bumpy and looks like it would fit a doll but then stretches and is like one size fits all). She has had lots of phone calls, cards in the mail today. She is LOVED by many that is for sure. She has had a very special day today. Ate out for lunch, shopping with Grandma, eating supper at Stella's and then more presents. What more could a 6 yr old girl ask for?!
Stella's Blue Sky Diner
We took Hannah to Stella's tonight for her Birthday supper. When I asked her where she wanted to eat her 1st pick was Subway! This girl LOVES Subway! I said lets go somewhere more fun. I mentioned Stella's and that they pour malts on your head and then she was game. Stella's was a great place to go. She did get a malt poured on her head. She also got to wear a sombrero and was sung to by the whole restaurant. Also got a free ice cream sundae for her b-day dessert.
Crop Duster
I believe that is what they are called. Anyway, we had one right outside our house this afternoon. We still have a few farm fields next to us, they are building a new Elementary across the street from us so that took away the majority of the farm fields. The girls and I had fun watching the plane spray the field.
