Adam & Quinn's wedding

My cousin Adam Stephens got married yesterday in Kansas City. It was a beautiful wedding. The girls had a good time at the reception. My cousin Gina that got married in June was there, so the girls were stuck to her like glue for the night until she had to leave to drive back to Iowa. Adam's dad is 1 of 15 children. I believe they said last night that Quinn makes the 175th person into the family. WOW!! I got a picture of all the Stephens cousins that were at the reception.

Twins

The girls have matching tops. I am sure this will be the last summer that Hannah will let me dress her and Haydn in matching outfits. She was actually the one this morning that said she wanted Haydn to wear their matching tops. Now that I am a mom myself I am realizing I am eating words that I spoke when I was a child. I have two younger sisters, at times mom would dress us all alike. I would say that I would NEVER do that when I was a parent. Well I have done it numerous times. Neither one of the girls was into getting their picture taken today. I ended up taking probably the best one when they were watching TV.

Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad

Mom, Kayren, Hannah, Stella, Haydn, Porter & I went on the Boone train ride today. It was a lot of fun.We had a picnic lunch before getting on the train. We had our own car to ourselves, so the kids could be as loud as they wanted. The train left at 1:30 (the only departure time during the week) it was 1.5 trip it went by fast. On the way home we stopped at Jester Park, the kids enjoyed playing in the water. They got so wet that we had to strip them down to their underwear for the rest of the ride home.

Fancy Nancy Lunch

While Haydn was in Mt Ayr she went up to Jamie's Cafe and ate lunch with mom and A Jo. Haydn dressed in her feather boa and plastic "clap shoes" (as she calls them). I guess all Haydn ate was her pickle and chips but she had a great time.

soon to be home away from home...

Hannah ALWAYS wants to go to the school playground but I tell her no, for all the equipment is too big for Haydn to play on. Today she asked and I said YES! She had a lot of fun climbing, swinging, jumping and running around!!

Who Is Sleeping In Haydn's Bed??

Answer: Hannah!!

Haydn is in Mt Ayr. Hannah is LOVING not having her around. Hannah was in Bible School this week. After Bible School today we went to Jordan Creek Mall, ate lunch then headed to Build a Bear. We got a $10.00 off coupon in the mail. She went back and forth about what she wanted. She ended up with a pink headband and a pink dress for her bear. When you purchase something from Build A Bear you then get two free satin bows for your bear. Well she chose yellow and black?! What?? Wes was impressed! We walked around a few other stores and even hit the playland. We were going to grill out for supper but decided to go out instead. Hannah chose Subway! This girl LOVES Subway!! Not sure what we will do tomorrow. The temp is only to be 73! Is it Sept? No, it is July!!
Hannah thought since Haydn was gone she wanted to sleep in her bed tonight.

Sleeping Beauty

One minute Hannah was talking to me this afternoon and then the next she was asleep. For some reason how her mouth is open in the picture is funny to me, so that is why the close up of her!! Haydn has been getting out of her bed every now and then. She will crawl under her bed and sleep like this until I move her. I don't know why she does it, nor does it look comfortable! She still does not get out of bed or should I say her bedroom on her own! She will call for me when she wakes in the mornings and after she wakes from her afternoon nap to come get her (she is always in her bed at this point)!!

4th of July

Happy 4th of July!! Haydn wasn't into getting her picture taken today!! I think this is one of the coolest 4th of July's I can remember in a LONG time. Two years ago, we flew out on the 5th for Anna Leigh and Patrick's wedding. Our air conditioner broke on the 3rd or 4th, but all I remember is our house was over 90 degrees on the night of the 4th! UGH!! I think the temp right now is maybe a high of 70!! We might be wearing jeans and long sleeves to the fireworks tonight.

Fishing

Wes took the girls fishing yesterday morning at his grandparents farm pond south of Winterset. Hannah caught 5 fish all by herself. She even called me to tell me her good news. Haydn didn't have as much fun.

Last Day

Last day before Hannah comes home. Today after work Haydn and I met Grandma Marcia and Great Grandma Bev for lunch. After Haydn's nap we went up to the Waukee Farmer's Market. We got home and Wes was home from work. We went out for supper and then went to Centennial Park. Beautiful night out. Tomorrow I will meet Mom and Hannah will come back home. I know Hannah has had a blast in Mt Ayr and I hope Haydn has had as much fun here.
