The girls and I headed to Ames this morning to walk around Reiman Gardens. It has been 4 yrs since we have been up there. Haydn didn't remember going 4 years ago.
Each year they have a theme and this year it is Legos. This display has 37,497 legos! WOW!
Lily pads made from legos along with a fish and frog.
worlds largest concrete gnome (or so they say)
real lily pads
lego lawn mower it has 13,704 pieces
Hummingbird and flower have 31,565 pieces
lego fox
lego rabbit
Last we walked through the butterfly wing. It was really cool to see all the different butterflies in there. One landed on Hannah's hand but I didn't get my camera out quick enough!
I thought this plant with hot pink spiky things were cool!
another butterfly
After Reiman Gardens we ate lunch at Great Plains. It was fun to take the girls somewhere where I would go from time to time with my sisters and parents even. We then drove around campus. I was able to show them the dorms both Kayren and Anna Leigh lived in, 1 apt of AL's and Kayren's off campus apt. Stanton was closed so I wasn't able to drive by the "Barn" or Kayren's house. We finished the trip by stopping at Orange Leaf in Ames. It was a fun day with the girls.
