Haydn's 1st ER Visit
Last night around 7:30-8:00 we headed to the ER. Haydn had been breathing heavy all afternoon. Around 4:00PM I took her up to a neighbor that is a nurse for her to look at her, give me an opinion of what to do. She was not home. She wasn't getting any better. She did have a temp of 100 at 6:00. I went on a walk after supper and noticed she was home so I took her back up there. Well she noticed right away that she was working hard at breathing. So I came home and got Wes and headed down to Blank's ER. There were a lot of people in the waiting room (of course) but when I told them her symptoms they got us in right away. They listened to her breathe and could tell on one side she was having troubles breathing. Glad we were helped so quickly but on the other hand since it was a scary situation that was scary for me. They hooked her up to a machine that keeps track of her heartbeats (can you tell I am not a medical person) anyway when Haydn would try and talk it would go off the charts. Just to give you an example she was so short of breath that she would have to stop in the middle of a sentence to catch her breath! Once we got into our room a nurse came in and gave her a nebulizer treatment. That worked wonders on her. They also did a chest x-ray on her to see if she possibly had Pneumonia (which she doesn't)!! She did AWESOME through all the gadgets hooked up to her! She had the x-ray staff laughing I guess of what she was telling them, we couldn't be in the room with her, just waited outside the room! The hospital staff was WONDERFUL. They have a program there that helps entertain the kids while they are waiting on test results or in between Doctors or nurses coming in to see them. She colored handfuls of pictures, watched a Dora movie, got two stickers. So she came home with an inhaler that we have to give to her every 4 hrs starting last night at 1:00! So she slept with me last night just so I could monitor her. Needless to say we all will be taking naps today! We got home alittle before 10:00 PM last night. She is on the road to recovery already! Hopefully it will be a LONG time until we go to the ER again!

I am glad it is not serious, however, it does sound exactly like what I had this past week. Hence, why we have stayed away from the Y. Sorry to hear she is sick.Tell her Delaney hopes she feels better soon!
So glad that everything was ok...it is so stressful when your kids aren't doing well. When Brody had to have the chest x-ray last Feb, it was HORRIBLE. I feel your pain
So sorry to hear H had to go to the hospital, but happy to hear they entertained her & that she did great. Hope she is feeling better soon!
Whoa!!! I this is crazy!! Poor little Haydn. I'm glad so glad she is doing better and that she wasn't scared at all of the hospital!
So glad that Haydn is doing better. I am sure it was a very stressful situation for everyone but is sounds like you all did great!
Oh scary, Sara! I'm so glad she is ok. It's wonderful that the hospital was such a good experience too. It's nice knowing that you are well taken care of if you ever need to go back there again (hopefully not).
Happy to hear that Munchkin is doing better! Can't imagine how scary that whole ordeal was! Sounds like she was a trooper! I can believe that she had them in laughter!! If ya gotta go, it sounds like a great place with all the entertainment, etc.
Glad to hear Haydn is doing okay! Can imagine that was quite scary!!
