giddy up

Hannah had her friend party today.  We went to Jester Equestrian Center to ride horses. The kids rode inside the arena. Which was nice since the party was in the middle of the afternoon and it was a hot afternoon as well.  Here is Porter riding his horse.

Taste of Hope

The girls attended VBS at Hope this past week. They LOVE it!!  I believe this is Hannah's 4th year going. Hope has 3 sessions of VBS and this year they reached 5000 kids attending!! WOW!!  Taste of Hope is a FREE party at the end week 2.  We have never been able to attend in the past. This year we were available.  They have a petting zoo, games, blow up jump houses, Blank Park Zoo bought animals and talked about them. There is free food and what the girls love the most is the CD you get that has the songs on it from VBS.  They listen it Non stop!!

Here Hannah is in the petting zoo. Haydn did not want to feed the animals

this is a game that you try and knock your opponents off with this big ball.  the boy in front of Hannah was the first to loose his balance!

Wisconsin Dells

We along with Marcia, Adam & family and Geoff & Missy (girlfriend) went to Wisconsin Dells Sunday-Wednesday.  We had a blast. I have heard a lot about the Dells so was excited to trek up there. We went to a water park one day, did a duck boat tour, swam a lot, just had a good time! On Wednesday when we left we stopped by "The house on the Rock".  That was pretty cool as well. It was hot up there just like home. They are even drier than us. The grass is TOTALLY burnt out!

Blogger got my pictures all out of order..
This is the House on the Rock.

Reiman Gardens

The girls and I headed to Ames this morning to walk around Reiman Gardens.  It has been 4 yrs since we have been up there. Haydn didn't remember going 4 years ago.
Each year they have a theme and this year it is Legos. This display has 37,497 legos!  WOW!
Lily pads made from legos along with a fish and frog.
worlds largest concrete gnome (or so they say)
 real lily pads
lego lawn mower it has 13,704 pieces

Hummingbird and flower have 31,565 pieces

 lego fox
 lego rabbit
Last we walked through the butterfly wing. It was really cool to see all the different butterflies in there. One landed on Hannah's hand but I didn't get my camera out quick enough!
I thought this plant with hot pink spiky things were cool!
 another butterfly
After Reiman Gardens we ate lunch at Great Plains. It was fun to take the girls somewhere where I would go from time to time with my sisters and parents even.  We then drove around campus. I was able to show them the dorms both Kayren and Anna Leigh lived in, 1 apt of AL's and Kayren's off campus apt. Stanton was closed so I wasn't able to drive by the "Barn" or Kayren's house.  We finished the trip by stopping at Orange Leaf in Ames. It was a fun day with the girls.

we are still here

I don't think I have taken any pictures since my last post. It has been very hot here for a couple weeks. Started to cool down yesterday. The girls and I walked in the WDM 4th of July parade, yes it was very hot but fun in the same sense!!  We are looking forward to our Wisconsin Dells trip this next week. My next post will have pictures, I promise and will be more exciting to read!

NC Cousins

The girls and I headed to Mt Ayr after Haydn's cheer clinic on Wed night.  AL and the girls were still here.  Here is our many attempts to get a picture of all 6.  As you can see Haydn didn't want in the picture at first. Isla wasn't happy either!!

Vada's b-day is the 30th but we wanted to celebrate with her. She was in 7th heaven with her chocolate cake!!

Isla is a momma girl, but if she can't see her mom she is fine. Haydn LOVES, LOVES babies. She just could not keep her hands off Isla. Haydn was in heaven pushing Isla up/down the hill.  I think Isla enjoyed it too!
