snow, snow and more snow

this is the street in front of our house. This car thought they could get through. Guess not! This was Wednesday, this is why most of Des Moines was closed. TOO MUCH SNOW!!! You couldn't tell it was even a street. Just gives you an idea how much snow we had!

here is a picture of all our snow piled up!

I got hit hard Tuesday night into Wednesday with snow. I believe we have 15 inches or maybe even more?! Hannah didn't have school Wednesday or Thursday. Both were to be big days for her. Wednesday she was to take snack and Thursday she was to ride in a Hummer Limo. She sold enough items during her fundraising this Fall to receive the Limo ride. Later this afternoon Wes went outside with the girls to play and he ended up making a snow fort for them.

The girls and I headed to Mt Ayr for the weekend. Wes stayed here to work. We stayed busy while we were there. Friday night we got to attend the Funeral Home party. It was at Ramsey's Farms. It was decorated beautiful for Christmas. The food was wonderful. Saturday we headed up to Pamida to see Santa, saw Polar Express @ Princess Theater, heard Simply Voices at the Methodist Church, ate supper at the Christian Church, watched the lighted Christmas parade and then walked around the square for the window walk. Busy, busy! It was a fun-filled weekend.

what we have to look forward to...

Haydn talking on the phone. I had to secretly takes these photos of her. She just looked so natural talking on the phone. She had her legs crossed and was really into the conversation. She was actually talking to Vada and Aunt Anna Leigh. We wrapped Vada's gifts yesterday in Elmo paper. I guess Vada is REALLY into Elmo right now. It was funny to listen to Haydn's side of the conversation. She is hysterical!
By the time Haydn gets to her teenage years she will not have a teenline like I did (that is already outdated, I am showing my age). She will want a cell phone (which may be a thing of the past also). I can see Hannah loving to talk on the phone also! Boy, the teenage years in our house will be interesting!!
She is a natural what can I say!

decorating

Hannah's tree

Haydn's tree

Haydn took this picture

and this one
We started decorating this morning shortly after breakfast. Hence why we still have our PJ's on. Haydn has been asking for weeks to decorate the tree. Both girls have their own trees in their room. They had fun decorating them, seems all the ornaments end up in the front and all close to each other. I had to arrange the tree in the living room alittle bit for they were all clumped together. Their trees in their rooms are how they did them! CUTE!

Marcia, the girls and I went to Disney on Ice tonight. I believe it is our 4 yr doing this. It was a beautiful show. Haydn really got into the show this year. We had great seats too.

Fun Weekend

Haydn was hiding behind the stroller at the point. She HATES clowns.

We headed over to Davenport Friday after Hannah got out of school. Geoff came down from Minnesota also. Marcia and the 3 boys headed to the Hawkeye football game Saturday. Natalie, I and the 4 kids headed downtown Davenport to a parade. We sat where it ended, the kids got restless before it even started, the older 3 had to all go to the bathroom. Then they weren't really interested in watching the parade. We saw part of it, it reminded me of the Macy's Day parade. It had quite a few big balloons. We got to meet Owen for the first time too. He is the BEST baby. I never did hear him in cry ONCE. Haydn had the best time holding him, making sure he had his pacifier at all times. The weather was gorgeous too. We got to play outside a lot also.
