I took the girls out to Jordan Creek tonight. They fed the fish/ducks. Was fun to see the ducks fight over the bread. The ducks should be fed quite well tonight for there were several families out there with the same idea as us. We went into the mall and ate supper. Also had cold stone for dessert so a fun night indeed!! Wes is in Pennsylvania for the Penn State/Iowa game tomorrow night. He left VERY early Thursday morning (like 3:00AM) to head to KC for his flight. He will be back Sunday night. Hope the weather is nice tomorrow & Sunday for us to get outside and do something!!

Watson/Warin get together
sidewalk chalk on their faces.
Uncle Mark and Ken hosted a get together last night for the Warin's being in town. They all flew in Thursday for the U of A/Iowa game today in Iowa City. Kayren had everyone over Thursday night. Both nights were a lot of fun. Sat outside both nights. Last night I took over a black eyed pea dip well it fell off the table and splattered all over the cement. So mom, Brad and Nelson decided to eat the top layer off the driveway. It looks like throw-up! NASTY!! Then Uncle Mark got out the dustpan and got it all cleaned up.

Howell's
largest rabbit I have ever seen.
Haydn, I, my friend Jill and her daughter Hannah went to Howell's this morning. It was another beautiful day to be outside. The pumpkin patch doesn't open until the 1st weekend in Oct but they had a play area for kids where they could ride toy tractors, play in corn, feed goats, rabbits. It was a lot of fun. We packed a picnic lunch. We will have to go back when the pumpkin patch opens and take a wagon ride.

Haydn and I headed to Mt Ayr Friday night. Marcia, Steve and their football crew were reffing the MA/Bedford football game. Haydn enjoyed seeing Grandma in action! Hannah and Wes headed to Hannah's first IA football game Saturday morning with Grandpa Tom and Matt. We had a get together Saturday night at mom and dad's. Monday we all headed over to the Diagonal Parade. It has been awhile since I have been to Diagonal for Labor Day. It was a really nice parade and the kids got enough candy to last them until Beaverdale Parade! The girls and I ended up staying Monday night as well. We had our bedroom and living room windows replaced. I knew we would be in the way if we were here. Hannah didn't have school Tuesday (teacher in-service) so it worked out for the best that we stayed in MA. We have had 4 windows replaced, it is a mess. I have been working hard today to get things dusted, cleaned, laundry catch back up. Glad tomorrow is Thursday already!!

Gameday and Near Cardiac Arrest

Hannah attended her first Hawkeye Game today, I wish it would have been a less stressful game, but as it turned out she got to see a dramatic finish! For those of you who don't know (or don't care), Iowa blocked 2 field goals in the final seven seconds to hold on and beat UNI 17-16! I think she had fun, but she did tell me she didn't want to go again until she's 16. We rode to the game with Grandpa Tom and Uncle Matt. On Iowa and Go Hawks!! -Wes-

Haydn's 1st ER Visit
Last night around 7:30-8:00 we headed to the ER. Haydn had been breathing heavy all afternoon. Around 4:00PM I took her up to a neighbor that is a nurse for her to look at her, give me an opinion of what to do. She was not home. She wasn't getting any better. She did have a temp of 100 at 6:00. I went on a walk after supper and noticed she was home so I took her back up there. Well she noticed right away that she was working hard at breathing. So I came home and got Wes and headed down to Blank's ER. There were a lot of people in the waiting room (of course) but when I told them her symptoms they got us in right away. They listened to her breathe and could tell on one side she was having troubles breathing. Glad we were helped so quickly but on the other hand since it was a scary situation that was scary for me. They hooked her up to a machine that keeps track of her heartbeats (can you tell I am not a medical person) anyway when Haydn would try and talk it would go off the charts. Just to give you an example she was so short of breath that she would have to stop in the middle of a sentence to catch her breath! Once we got into our room a nurse came in and gave her a nebulizer treatment. That worked wonders on her. They also did a chest x-ray on her to see if she possibly had Pneumonia (which she doesn't)!! She did AWESOME through all the gadgets hooked up to her! She had the x-ray staff laughing I guess of what she was telling them, we couldn't be in the room with her, just waited outside the room! The hospital staff was WONDERFUL. They have a program there that helps entertain the kids while they are waiting on test results or in between Doctors or nurses coming in to see them. She colored handfuls of pictures, watched a Dora movie, got two stickers. So she came home with an inhaler that we have to give to her every 4 hrs starting last night at 1:00! So she slept with me last night just so I could monitor her. Needless to say we all will be taking naps today! We got home alittle before 10:00 PM last night. She is on the road to recovery already! Hopefully it will be a LONG time until we go to the ER again!

Waukee Fest Parade
The girls and I were in the Waukee Fest Parade this morning. We walked with the Aquatic Center float (if the vote is passed in 2010). This is the first time we have been in a parade here in Waukee. It was a lot of fun! We had TONS of candy to throw out and small beach balls. The kids did a very good job of rationing the candy for we had a lot left over at the end. I got this one picture before we took off.

Play-Doh
Hannah has been home sick yesterday and today from school. I actually took her to the Doctor yesterday, Wednesday night she was coughing like a croup cough. Well turns out her lungs sounded fine! I hate when I jump the gun on taking the girls to the doctor. Last night she actually got sick in the middle of the night. She has been fine all morning, has eaten breakfast and lunch! She wanted to do play-doh this morning so I got that out and it entertained them for a long time.

Hannah's 1st Day of Kindergarten
her walking into the building.
Hannah was excited this morning, she actually got up alittle before 7:00 this morning (earliest she has gotten up all summer). Last night she said her tummy hurt, she actually fell asleep at 8:00, which she hasn't been asleep that early in a VERY LONG time!! So I was nervous she was going to miss her 1st day of school. She was fine this morning. She didn't start school until 9:45 today and gets out at 1:45 today and tomorrow. Friday she goes all day. She was ready to go to school way before it was time. Wes came home to ride along with us for her 1st day. We got to school she found her teacher and stood in line. I tried to get a couple shot of her but she never wanted to smile. Then they all walked into school with their teacher. The parents weren't aloud to go into school with them. Which I totally understand. So I didn't cry, I did get teary eyed a couple times but I think it helped that we said our good-byes outside the building. I wanted to get a picture of Hannah with her teacher but Mrs Rutz was so busy greeting students and making sure everyone was where they were to be. Might try and get one when I pick Hannah up this afternoon. Anxious to hear about her 1st day!

Another gift
Camping at Fogle Lake
the plaque on the rock is in memory of G-ma Bert.
Mom, dad, Davidson's, Mark, Ken and us camped last night at Fogle Lake in Diagonal. It was a lot of fun. We celebrated Hannah and Uncle Mark's b-day, went horseback riding, had a wiener roast, water balloon fight, made smores and went fishing all in less than 24 hours. We had off/on rain showers yesterday, but never put a damper on our day. It rained REALLY hard last night, good thing we were staying in cabins and not tents. The cabins are really nice and pretty spacious.
