Unique Haydn

Haydn has been wearing Hannah scarf around the house. Then today she found Hannah's elephant backpack and is wearing that. I tried to zoom in and get some shots of her beautiful blue eyes. Not sure if the pictures will show how bright blue they are!

Hannah got sick this morning at 6:30. Was acting fine after that, so I got her ready for school and she got sick again on the way there and once when we got home. Now she is acting perfectly fine. UGH!! I was going to read to her preschool class today. I was actually really looking forward to it. That can be rescheduled!! Doing laundry now.

The Ever So Changing Haydn....

Today after lunch I was thinking of all Haydn has done/experienced this last year. She got rid of her pacifier this fall, she sleeps in a twin bed and now is COMPLETELY potty trained she has not had an accident since the 22nd!! She keeps her pull-up dry more than she pees in it during nap time too. She still wears a nite time diaper. She knows all the primary colors, can count to 10, can sing the ABC's. She will be 3 in alittle over 2 months. She is not a baby at all anymore. She is trying to skip, right now it is more like a hop but I am sure within the next month she will have that mastered too. She is a VERY strong willed girl. She likes to do things "myself". She will climb, push a chair to what she wants to get! She writes/colors left-handed.

Seems like she has experienced as much this year as she did her first year of life!!

Poor Girl

Wes was getting Haydn dressed for bed, she picked out this undershirt and he got it on her and it was like a half top!! She is still wearing it. Might find its way to the trash!! I am still laughing at the picture now!!

P.S. she does have undershirts that do fit her, but they are plain white.

PETCO

After Haydn woke up from her nap we headed to PETCO. She has been asking to go here for awhile. She LOVES pushing the carts around. I have mentioned her love for this before. So today I took the camera. She loves the mice, birds and "Nemo" fish the best. The carts are pretty funny. They are small and have a metal pole that has a sign on them that says "customer in training".

P.S. Haydn has not had an accident since a week ago today! YEAH!!! Some days she has kept her pull-up dry during naptime!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Art

Hannah and I did crafts this afternoon while Haydn was napping. She made a lion and I made a sign for Haydn's bedroom door. She LOVES to draw, do crafts, any type of artwork. She got that from the Little side!

bye-bye

to Haydn's potty chair!! I cleaned the house today and decided to clean her potty chair and put it back in the box!! She hasn't used it for a LONG time! This is one milestone I am not sad we are through with. She does have a toilet seat that fits into the regular toilet (does that make sense?) seat that she still uses. Will be nice to have the potty chair out of the bathroom!

For the Record....

This is more for me than it will be exciting for you.
Haydn has done AWESOME with wearing underwear.
Last Tuesday was when she started wearing real underwear full-time.
No accidents on Tuesday
Two accidents on Wednesday all before 10:00 AM
Two accidents on Thursday
No accidents on Friday
No accidents on Saturday even kept the pull-up dry during nap
So far no accidents today and kept the pull-up dry again during naptime

Movie Night

Gave the girls their bath and decided since Wes has gone back into work we would watch a movie. Haydn chose "Bee Movie". Got their sleeping bags and pillows out for them to lay on. Haydn isn't even watching the movie now. She doesn't sit still for ANYTHING!! Plus everything is "scary" to her on TV. They got this movie for Christmas!!

Snow Day

Hannah didn't have school today. The temp right now with the windchill is -14, yes, that is 14 BELOW zero!! It is too dangerous for kids to be outside for longer than 10 minutes, with the possibility of frostbite if any skin is exposed!! oh my!! They said on the news last night that they buses would even have trouble running when it is this cold! I wouldn't want my child on a bus when it is this cold anyway. On KCCI website there are 195 closing/delays reported! A snow day is fun, but not when it is so cold that you are house bound. Kids can't even go out in the snow and play.
Haydn is doing great on wearing panties! Yesterday she did have two accidents but that is part of it. I think has 20 pairs of underwear and she has plenty of pants to wear so it is all good. I guess one good thing, we are here for the day so I can remind her to potty every 30-45 min.

Hope we are on to something......

Haydn wore "real" underwear today, ALL DAY! She has not had one accident!! I hope this continues or I am not jinxing myself?! For the past week she has done really well (still in pull-ups) but would go to the bathroom when I took her. Yesterday at the YMCA she was in a different room than I was. She must of asked a teacher to take her pee. For when she came back into the room I was in, I asked her, "let's go pee"? She said she "already had". I confirmed it with the teacher, and she had! So, I thought we need to bite the bullet and do this. Pull-ups are a glorified diaper and you would think I would learn this faster the second time around! Not the case. It has actually taken Haydn longer to potty train than it did Hannah! Haydn can be stubborn for those that know her! Let's just hope this trend continues!! She still wears a diaper at naptime and bedtime. I can handle that! She has actually gone #2 in the toilet for close to 3 months! YEAH!!! Dirty diapers I can do without!!

More Snow......

Last night it started to snow, it started here in Waukee around 6:00 (well that is when I started to notice). Within a hour snow was completely covering the deck. We haven't had snow since before Christmas. I took a few pictures for mom and dad since they are in SUNNY Arizona! Not sure how much snow we have but the news is saying 5-6 inches.

Wes

I always post about the girls and never Wes. Well he came home today around 1:00 and told me he had been to the Doctor (he really wasn't feeling well if we went to the Doctor). He has Pneumonia! The Doctor thought it started out as Bronchitis but Wes didn't do anything about it so it turned into Pneumonia! He probably hasn't felt well for close to a month or maybe even longer.

Christmas with Eliott

Marcia, Adam, Natalie and Eliott came out tonight to celebrate Christmas. The kids exchanged gifts. Both girls got things right up their alley. Hannah got a hair dryer (which works), can of hair spray, curling iron, mirror, rubber bands, hair extensions. Haydn got dress up shoes, purse, tiara, bracelet/necklace/earrings. Haydn took to the hair dryer and curling iron right away! The kids had a great time playing together!

Decorations Down

We took the tree down today! Boy, it was an all day event!! I am always excited to get the tree up but after Christmas I am ready for it to be down. The house looks so bare now! Hannah wanted to put up Valentine's decorations I told her not yet!!

Christmas Morning

Merry Christmas!! We opened gifts here this morning. Hannah was happy that Santa ate her sugar cookies we baked yesterday. We put reindeer food out last night too. Hannah thought the reindeer have big feet. They left tracks on the deck and ate most all the food that was left for them. Haydn got a camera and Hannah got a barbie vinyl cling. We
are going to Winterset for lunch. Come back for Haydn's nap. Wes will get the Wii set up and then we will play that this afternoon/evening.

Christmas Eve

We went to Marcia's last night. The girls made out like bandits (go figure). They had fun with Uncle Geoff. Adam was not able to make it back, the weather in eastern IA is not good. Adam, Natalie & Eliott are to come back this weekend. Lets hope for better weather.

Sugar Cookies

I planned on making sugar cookies yesterday but Hannah wasn't feeling well. So we did them this morning. Boy, it was a lot of fun. We don't have Christmas cookies cutters but we have animal ones, like fish, gorilla, parrot, bear and a squirrel. We also have a foot and heart. The girls didn't care or know the difference. I made four different colors of frosting for them. They had a blast frosting them also. Hannah got the hang of it more, she would frost them evenly and Haydn would "glob" hers. All good. Hannah is like her father and doesn't like frosting much. Haydn loves frosting like me!! I rolled the dough a little too thin, but they will still taste good. Just add more frosting, right...?! They played doll houses while the cookies were cooling.
I also made chicken chili and will do black eyed pea dip for tonight, we are going to Marcia's house!
