North Carolina Visit

The girls and I flew out on Thursday to Raleigh to meet Isla and visit Pat, Anna Leigh and Vada. We had a great trip. Flights were on time, weather was great and our hosts were awesome! It was a busy time to visit them, for they just moved into their new house, actually they were moving in. We stayed at the old house the 1st night and the next 3 nights we stayed at the new house. Their new home is beautiful, big and spacious for all their house guests they have!
Here we are on the plane leaving DM! Hannah says thumbs up to leaving cold temps and snow!

Anna Leigh and Patrick are such great hosts. They have had a busy month with Isla being born and moving to a new house. I want to go back already!

Cheer Clinic

This past Saturday Hannah participated in a Jr Cheer Clinic. She had a blast. Tonight she performed during half-time of the girls BB game. She did two cheers and danced to one song!

Thumbs up! She had a good time tonight!

homemade pizzas

Since I knew Hannah was getting out of school early today for blizzard like warnings, and after Haydn got out of school we headed to the grocery store to buy some ingredients to make cookies and then buy something fun for supper. We decided on homemade pizzas. The cookies were AWESOME (best right out of the oven)! The homemade pizzas were a hit also. Haydn made cheese! Hannah made a smiley face with ham, pepperoni and cheese. Mine had ham, black olives, tomatoes and cheese. DELICIOUS!! Wes was still at work when we ate supper. The reason why the girls are in their PJ's is because we had early baths!!

Blizzard 2011

Here is what it is doing in Iowa.....Blizzard warning remains in effect until noon cst Wednesday. A blizzard warning remains in effect until noon cst Wednesday. Short term trends, snow will continue to increase across the area this afternoon. Northeast winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 mph. Snowfall rates will increase to one half to one inch per hour by mid to late afternoon. Storm total snow accumulations, new snowfall accumulations this afternoon and overnight will range from 3 to 7 inches on the northwest side of the warning to 13 to 18 inches over the far southeast. Winds/visibility, northeast winds of 25 to 35 mph with higher gusts are expected this afternoon into Wednesday morning. Gusts will approach 50 mph late this afternoon and into the evening. Visibilities will drop to near zero. Impacts, travel will be dangerous and life threatening due to dramatically reduced visibilities and bitter cold wind chills that will develop overnight. Travel will be nearly impossible by late this afternoon and tonight. If you become stranded, expect to spend the entire night in your vehicle as rescuers likely will not be able to reach you. Therefore, if you must travel, do it soon! do not endanger yours and others lives! Precautionary/preparedness actions, A blizzard warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout conditions, making travel extremely dangerous. Do not travel. If you absolutely must travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle.

playing in the snow

Today the temps were close to 40 so after school we headed outside to play. Here they are both enjoying some "white" snow!

Here Haydn is going down the slide on her shovel. They got going pretty fast doing this! Looks like she got ahead of her shovel though!

alittle blurry but still cute!

#7

That is how many teeth she has lost now. Her top second left tooth is the one she lost. She was SO happy to lose it at school today. She FINALLY got her tooth treasure box she wanted back in Dec when she lost a bottom tooth at recess in the snow! She is VERY proud of her tooth box. (I don't know how to link this post to a previous post but I looked back and on Dec 20th was the post of when she lost her tooth at school in the snow, one month ago today)!
