limo ride

Haydn has to pose with her

Today was Hannah Hummer Limo ride. I got a few shots of her, none all that good. I heard the Assistant Principal say that they went by the new school which is across the street from us, so I will have to ask Hannah about that when she gets home from school. Their ride was about 20 minutes. Would of loved to been a mouse in the limo to see what they talked about. They were all to wear a Waukee t-shirt today. She got hers from the fundraisers that she sold this fall, how she earned the limo ride.

Christmas in the Ayr

Haydn has lip gloss on her eye but also on her lips!

watching a movie in the den

We woke up this morning and opened gifts. No longer do they take turns opening gifts. It is free for all. Kind of makes it more challenging to get pictures of them opening the presents! Hannah got her scooter that she has been asking for. Haydn loved her build a bear clothes and her glow station the best.

cousin gifts

before going to church

The 5 cousins draw names. We let the kids open their gifts from each other Saturday morning. Nana & Papa also read the annual "Night Before Christmas" book. I think this year was the first year they all sat and listened to the whole thing!

surprise visitor

We went to MA on Friday. Mom & dad had some people over for some holiday cheer. Dad's friend Lynn made a surprise visit for the kids. At first Haydn was scared of him but quickly warmed up to him. It was so fun to see the kids reactions to him. He had brought some sleigh bells with him. I believe that was the big hit. Hannah saw him either pull in or leave in his truck so she knew he wasn't the real deal but did enjoy sitting on his lap non the less! Haydn still wants a reindeer that is what she has been telling Santa at the mall. Hannah wanted a two wheel scooter which she got in MA!

Gingerbread House

Hannah's side of the house

Haydn's side of the house

Marcia came out this morning and decorated a gingerbread house with the girls. They each had their own side to decorate. I think Haydn ate as many candies as she put on her side. Of course it turned out BEAUTIFUL!

snow, snow and more snow

this is the street in front of our house. This car thought they could get through. Guess not! This was Wednesday, this is why most of Des Moines was closed. TOO MUCH SNOW!!! You couldn't tell it was even a street. Just gives you an idea how much snow we had!

here is a picture of all our snow piled up!

Hannah's snowball

Haydn's snowball

I got hit hard Tuesday night into Wednesday with snow. I believe we have 15 inches or maybe even more?! Hannah didn't have school Wednesday or Thursday. Both were to be big days for her. Wednesday she was to take snack and Thursday she was to ride in a Hummer Limo. She sold enough items during her fundraising this Fall to receive the Limo ride. Later this afternoon Wes went outside with the girls to play and he ended up making a snow fort for them.

The girls and I headed to Mt Ayr for the weekend. Wes stayed here to work. We stayed busy while we were there. Friday night we got to attend the Funeral Home party. It was at Ramsey's Farms. It was decorated beautiful for Christmas. The food was wonderful. Saturday we headed up to Pamida to see Santa, saw Polar Express @ Princess Theater, heard Simply Voices at the Methodist Church, ate supper at the Christian Church, watched the lighted Christmas parade and then walked around the square for the window walk. Busy, busy! It was a fun-filled weekend.

what we have to look forward to...

Haydn talking on the phone. I had to secretly takes these photos of her. She just looked so natural talking on the phone. She had her legs crossed and was really into the conversation. She was actually talking to Vada and Aunt Anna Leigh. We wrapped Vada's gifts yesterday in Elmo paper. I guess Vada is REALLY into Elmo right now. It was funny to listen to Haydn's side of the conversation. She is hysterical!
By the time Haydn gets to her teenage years she will not have a teenline like I did (that is already outdated, I am showing my age). She will want a cell phone (which may be a thing of the past also). I can see Hannah loving to talk on the phone also! Boy, the teenage years in our house will be interesting!!
She is a natural what can I say!
