Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!! Hannah wasn't feeling well last night, didn't sleep well either but did go to preschool, today she took treats. Tomorrow I read to her class, I am looking forward to that. We have no big plans for the night that I am aware of. Wes is going to Council Bluffs for bowling tourney this weekend so the girls and I might head to MA for different scenery!!

Have a good day!!

Weekend!!!

Wes took the girls to Mt Ayr on Friday night. I was staying here because I had people coming for items I had sold on Craigslist, plus mom will be here Monday night to stay the night. I lounged around Friday night. Saturday morning, I cleaned the house and FINALLY showered at 1:00ish. LOVE IT!! Watched tv all afternoon and then meet Joan, Joel, Amy and Grant for supper Sat night. Had a good time with them. Even went to Kohl's and Valley West for some shopping before meeting for supper. Was fun to leisurely look around and try thing on. Sunday, I went grocery shopping and that is about it! Just enjoying the rest of my time alone!

Hannah celebrates her 1/2 b-day on Tues at school so she is taking treats and then on Thurs too. I am reading to her class on Friday so that will be fun to see her in her enviroment!

Have a great week and stay warm!!

SNOW, SNOW and more SNOW!

Will this winter ever end! We are having yet another snow storm here in Waukee today. At least we aren't in SE IA for they are to get 11 plus inches!! We are 5-9 inches, still a lot but could be worse. Not much new to report with the girls. Hannah is getting to the age where she gets into EVERY holiday. I am sure going to preschool helps her be ware of them. Today she made her Valentine Day's box. so she takes v-day cards for all 22 classmates. She got a lot of practice writing her name. She chose Hannah Montana v-day cards! Haydn, is Haydn, she doesn't miss a beat, whatever Hannah is doing she will try! She is talking more and more, and you can actually carry on a small conversation with her.

We are ready for Spring!!

Not a whole lot new with us, since it has been SOOO cold here in Iowa we are inside a lot! Today, though was nice so Hannah rode her bike while I went on a walk. Then she came home and Wes played with her outside. On the sled and then she made her first snowman!!

Personality test

I saw this on someone else's blog..........

The Caregiver
You are sympathetic and caring, putting friends and family first.A creature of habit, you prefer routines and have trouble with change. You love being in groups - whether you're helping people or working on a project. You are good at listening, laughing, and bringing out the best in people. In love, you value harmony and mutual understanding. You will apologize or give someone the benefit of the doubt, if it means getting over a fight sooner. At work, you are good at building relationships and connecting with people. You would make a great nurse, social worker, or teacher. How you see yourself: Organized, dependable, co-operative. When other people don't get you, they see you as: Opinionated, critical, and know-it-all

Weekend in Mt Ayr

we went down to Mt Ayr this weekend. Wes is in the midst of making a bean bag game (aka cornhole) anyway we don't own a sewing machine (yes, shock of all shocks HA!) So mom helped him. Wes did sew a few and realized sewing is not for him!!! We went and ate supper in Clearfield and Mickey D's! Then headed to Diagonal's bb game and it was homecoming! The girls and boys both lost but was a good game to watch for such a small school! They have no HS girls to cheerlead so the elementary girls do it. Well Hannah and Haydn both found their way to the gym floor during timeouts. Hannah didn't know the cheers but had fun with the other girls. I got a new camera for x-mas but still do not know how to download the photos yet. But will post some photos from the weekend later!!

Happy Tuesday!

Well now that I have been working at the YMCA for over a year, we are finally utilizing our membership more. We went swimming last Wed night for the first time as a family. Was a lot of fun. So today when Haydn woke up I took the girls. Hannah is getting a lot more use to the water, will actually put her head in the water. So my goal is to go once a week. Haydn has NO fear of the water. Walks in the water my herself! The water was a little cold today, but if you keep moving then it isn't so bad. The swim team had practice while we were there. We were in the locker room the same time as the HS girls! Hannah was watching their every move! I am sure I was as dorky as they are when I was their age, minus the cell phones though!!

Hannah went back to preschool today. She had a great time seeing her friends again. They are at a new church so they have some new toys along with the old ones. Hannah enjoyed playing kitchen today, is what she told me.

Back to routine.....

Well now that Christmas and New Year's is over.....we are going to finally be back into a routine, which I think is good for all of us! Hannah starts back to school on Tuesday. She is moving preschools for those of you that don't know. The lease was up at the Methodist Church here in Waukee. So they moved to Point of Grace, on Hickman (Hwy 6). So further drive for us, but not much, really! It was nice though this fall on nice days, we would walk to and from but no longer will we do that! She is excited now that they had open house on Friday to see the new building. This time of the year is REALLY busy at the YMCA! With all those new years resolutions!! So now until probably February we will be busy in childwatch!! It either makes the 2 hrs go really fast or I can't wait to get my shift done!!! HA!!

So looking forward to getting back into our "normal" routine!!

Both girls got a lot of nice things. Hannah got a big barbie house and Haydn got a rocking horse. Those are probably their biggest gifts.

Hannah & Santa

Took Hannah to get her picture with Santa today. She did way better than Haydn. Haydn is at the hard age, I don't think any child from 1-2 likes Santa! We went and saw Jolly Holiday lights last night. Great night to see them, wasn't busy at all. Also drove her by AIB, told her that is where I went to college, not sure if she understood or not!! Doing x-mas with Tom and Amy on Saturday here in DM. Hope the weather is good for them to travel. Can't believe Christmas is almost here. The month of Dec always flies by!! I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas!!

Mt Ayr x-mas

We had Christmas in Mt Ayr this weekend. Anna Leigh flew home. The girls had a great time in Mt Ayr. We came back to Des Moines on Saturday and went to the Radio City Rockette's. It was a great show!! Was a fun mother-daughter night. Of course I forgot my camera in the car Sat night!! Kayren, Anna Leigh and I got matching outfits! How funny!! Years ago this would not be funny! But now it is!! Hannah, Stella and Haydn had a hard time telling us apart!!

High School Musical

Nov 21st we went to HSM!! Marcia, the girls and I went! Actually both girls had a great time. Haydn didn't sit still the whole time but would watch them skate for periods of time. She has heard the music so much that she too loves to dance!! Hannah was glued to the ice, she sang along to. I had as much fun as Hannah if not more!!

Hannah LOVES HSM!!! I am so excited for her!! Last year we went also but she didn't know too many of the disney movies they were performing! Anna Leigh is also coming back the beginning of Dec for an early x-mas. We are excited about that. We will be going to the Rockette's on Dec 8th! Looking forward to the show. I will post pictures after HSM!!!

Okoboji weekend/nice fall weather

We had a great time in Okoboji this past weekend. All three grandkids did great during the photo session. We had all of our pictures outside, so excited to see the proofs! Hannah had a great time with Sam (she is almost 16), Sam straightened her hair Sat night and put lip gloss on her. Hannah loved it!! Today it was nice here in Waukee, so we headed up to the park, what might be the last nice day. Hard to believe Oct is almost over!! Hannah will be excited next week for Halloween! I hope beggers night is nice night for all the kids to be out!

Happy Tuesday!

Just another Tuesday in the Little household. Hannah had preschool today. A firefighter came to visit her class for fire safety month. So she thought that was cool!! Haydn is really starting to talk more in the last few weeks. She loves shoes as you can see from the picture below! Kind of thought she might not be a girly girl but she loves shoes and she likes purses!! So time will tell. We are going to Okoboji this weekend with Tom and family, Adam & family and Geoff. We are getting our pictures taken professionally, so will be a fun weekend. I am sure I will have pictures to post about our Okoboji trip!!

Circus

Marcia took the girls and I to the circus today! The girls did great, I think us adults enjoyed it as much as the girls!! Hannah enjoyed the elephants. The round metal ball had 7 different motorcycles in it at one time! I even thought that was quite amazing!! We had great seats, we sat in the 7th row! So could see things quite well.

Fun weekend

Mom and dad were up Saturday night. They stayed out by Jordan Creek. The pool area has a little baby pool so perfect for the girls to swim in! Was a beautiful weekend weather wise too! Walked around the lake at Jordan Creek mall too. Hannah and I also went to Beaverdale parade Saturday morning. Was a nice parade. Hannah came home with so much candy as she does every year. Haydn stayed home with Wes, she wasn't too fond of the Waukee homecoming parade on Thursday night so didn't think she would enjoy Saturday's parade.

Play-doh

Hannah wanted to play with her play-doh yesterday right when Haydn was waking up from her nap so I told her today while Haydn was napping that she could play with it, so of course she remembered!

Rainy Sept Day

As I sit here, it is raining outside. One day it is fall and the next day it is warm like summer again!! Got to love the beginning of fall. I have got out both girls fall clothes, but have kept a few summer outfits out for those warmer days. It is nice to see a different variety of clothing for them and me too. Even though Haydn's clothes are mostly hand me downs but that is fine too. I have been to a few garage sales this summer and have scored some cute 18 month clothes for her.

To reap the last few weeks for you. We have our fall festival here in Waukee this past weekend so went uptown and enjoyed some carnival rides, food and Hannah even made some crafts. Went to the parade on Sunday was a nice size parade. Homecoming is this coming weekend so there is another parade on Thurs nite and then this coming Sat, is Beaverdale Days. They have a BIG parade. Seriously Hannah comes home with SO much candy!! I hope Saturday morning is nice for the parade. Hannah is loving preschool! She wears her backpack around the house until it is time to leave! Glad she wants to go, rather than have to drag her kicking and screaming!! Would be fun to be a mouse in her room with 23 other 4 yr olds!!!

Haydn is going to be the son we never had! She is a climber. Climbs on the kitchen chairs and then on the table. Can get on the toilet and plays with the toothbrushes! LOVES to flush the toilet!! When she falls and bleeds she doesn't cry, on the other hand Hannah cries at the site of blood or even the thought she might bleed! Funny how they can be so different and be from the same family!!

Well I will try and post pictures next time, haven't taken any of them lately!!

Enjoy the cooler weather!!!

Hannah's big day!

Hannah started preschool today. She goes Tues, Thurs and Fri. She had a great time her first day. Loved snack time, played dress up and made a craft. I think she is going to have a great year of preschool and will make some new friends.
